Iroko; A  West African hardwood with characteristics which make it ideal for use in the British climate. It is naturally resistant to decay and attack by insects which means that it will last for approximately 25 years with very little maintenance.

Traditionally used for ship and boat building it is an ideal alternative to Teak.

If left untreated its natural golden orange to brown colour weathers to an attractive silver grey colour. The only maintenance required is an annual cleaned with warm water and mild detergent.

Alternatively Iroko can be oil treated. This does not change the durability of the timber but does help to enhance and retain its appearance. We are happy to supply all our furniture pre-treated or you can apply the oil to your new purchase on arrival. Oiled timber should be retreated approximately annually to maintain appearance,
