Tack information

All Tack building are constructed from selected white Norwegian pine ensuring a high quality garden building.

Walls

The Tack range of buildings are available in 19, 22, 28, 34, 45, 69 and 90mm depending on the size and style of your building choice.

 

19 - 22mm

The buildings that use these sizes are supplied as flat or rounded profiles, they are mounted on a 32 x 56mm timber frame with a galvanised steel belt to prevent warping.  The walls are erected on the floor structure, the height of each panel is 2m.

 

28 - 34mm

Used within the "log cabins" and are individual pre-cut logs.  These have a flat or a log shaped profile with a single or double tongue and groove, depending on the thickness.  The logs can be produced with either a flat or diamond shaped end according to preference.  The number of logs for a wall will depend on the log thickness.  On 28mm and 34mm models 18 logs is the usual number used.  On buildings with a depth of over 4m the cabins have an extra log.

 

45 - 69 - 90mm

Double tongue and groove is used on all these thicknesses.  A flat or log shaped profile is available according to preference.

The number of logs used on the walls depend on the thickness of the logs used.  on the 45 and 69mm models 20 logs are used.  On depths of 4 metres and over the cabins have an extra log.

Double tongue and grooved

The Floor
The floor is pre-assembled and consists of 19mm thick tongue and grooved floorboards nailed onto impregnated pinewood floor joists of 32 x 56mm.  Floorboards are laid perpendicular to the floor joists.  Finishing skirting is supplied to hide the wall - floor joint.

Impregnated wooden matchboards of 19mm nailed onto impregnated pinewood floor joists of 32 x 56mm.

 

Types of Roof
Saddle roof - pre-assembled panels consisting of 19mm thick roof boards in either 50 or 100cm lengths.  These panels hook into 38 x 89mm wooden beams that are fitted with chamfered 32 x 56mm sideboards.  The front and backboards are sawn off at the angle of 18
°.

For the log cabins of 45 - 69 - 90mm Tack use ready dressed roof beams - 69 x 120mm to include a roof support for the 5, 5.5, 6m deep versions.  58 x 170mm for the 4 and 4.5m deep versions.

Finishing skirting is added to provide a water tight seal between the roof boards and walls.

 

 

 

 

 

 

A choice of red, blue, black and brown shingles is available.  If you prefer we can also supply a fully tiled roof.

It is possible to raise the apex of the roof and to adjust the angle as pictured according to personal preference.

Flat roof - A structure of steel roofing sheet laid on 32 x 120mm rafters and with an all round roof edging consisting of 30cm high fascia.  Available as optional extras are insulated roof panels and / or an underoof, composed of 19mm roof boards with an insulating, anti condensation membrane.

Pyramid roof - Ready to assemble structure, which measures 58 x 120mm, with 32 x 120mm plugs and matching roof boards, pre-cut to sizes.  The octagonal and decagonal is manufactured in the same principle as the pyramid roof.

Windows and Doors
Doors are fitted with a sturdy 3-point frame. The pre-mounted windows have glazing which is sealed with silicone and fitted with screwed on cross beams to ensure easy maintenance. The windows of our traditional models are fitted with decorative shutters and flower boxes. Doors with glass panels and pivoting windows are optional.

We are also able to supply optional frosted glass, double glazing and safety glass as well as extra panels, top and bottom hinged windows, double doors and many other configurations.
